Definition: France is a part of the Allied Powers. The Capital of France is Paris. Between June 1940 and May 1945, 68,778 civilians were killed including men, women, and children. Between the German victory in the battle of France, Germany bombed many locations in France. 1,570 French cities and towns were bombed by the Anglo-American forces.

Germany
Definition: Dictator = Adolf Hitler, leader of Germany as part of the Axis Powers in WW2.The Capital of Germany is Berlin.During WW2 Germany wanted more power than any other country. Germans also thought that they were better than any other country in the world (nationalism). So Germany declared war on every small country aroung Germany to gain more power.And soon try to take over the world!

Holocausts
Definition:The Holocaust is when the Germans killed 6,000,000 Jewish people and 5,000,000 people with different religons than the Germans. In all, about 11 million people were killed during the Holocaust. More than 1 million men,women,children were killed by the military units. Extermanation Camps were set up to imprison, force work and kill people with other religions than the Germans. The most popular Extermanation Camp was Aushiwitz Birkenau. This camp was located in a place that Germany took over in WW2 which was in Aushiwitz Birkenau, Poland.

Iwo Jima
Definition: Iwo Jima is an island that was raided by America on there way to Japan.It was a long fight against Americans and Japanise. At the end, America won that fight and now were getting closer to Japan. In the picture seen above 5 people were pushing the American flag onto the soil of Iwo Jima stating their victory.

Japan
Definition: Japan basically started World War 2 by attacking America on December 7, 1941 at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Japan was ruled by Hirohito during WW2. Japan was apart of the Axis powers. Japanese trade routes with America dropped really low.
